Bay FC hopes to use the five-week World Cup break as a reset button for their season. The team entered the break in 13th place, six points behind the eighth and final playoff spot, with a record of 4W-8D-14L from 26 games, and a recent form of LLDLL.

What's at stake?

The club returns to action Sunday against Boston Legacy FC looking to snap a three-game losing streak and climb back into the playoff race. Bay FC has scored just 26 goals this season, while conceding 41, resulting in a -15 goal difference.

New addition

The break also allowed Bay FC to integrate a key addition, midfielder Kennedy Fuller, acquired from Angel City FC during the June transfer window. Fuller, a U.S. Under-20 international, appeared in all 11 matches for Angel City this season, recording two goals and two assists.

Team culture

First-year coach Emma Coates praised the team's culture, saying the players are tremendous and have built a strong willingness to adapt and grow together. The team's next home game is July 18 against North Carolina, and they will remain on the East Coast after Sunday's match, traveling directly to Louisville for a Friday matchup.

Looking ahead

With 19 games remaining, Bay FC is focused on making a playoff push, currently 45 points behind leaders Kansas City W. Defender Maddie Moreau said the girls are ready to rewrite a little bit of what they've done so far, and the team is looking forward to putting in strong performances and getting important points on the board.
