Bay FC NWSL made their first signing of the offseason, adding 18-year-old forward Alex Pfeiffer on a three-year deal. Pfeiffer became the fourth-youngest signing in NWSL history when she signed her first pro contract in October 2023 with Kansas City at 15 years and 338 days old. She became the league's youngest goal scorer in her pro debut in March 2024. Bay FC desperately need scoring after finishing last in the NWSL with 26 goals in 26 games last season. They lost veteran forward Rachel Hill to Racing Louisville this offseason and return just Racheal Kundananji, Karlie Lema, and Penelope Hocking up front, joined by rookie Onyeka Gamero, who is also coming off a torn ACL. Pfeiffer primarily plays on the wing, so her signing could indicate a lineup where Kundananji plays as a center striker with speedy players like Pfeiffer and Lema around her. First-year head coach Emma Coates said Pfeiffer is an exciting young player who plays with real confidence. Pfeiffer has already proven herself at this level and Coates believes she has the quality to make a real impact now and will only continue to grow and develop within the team's environment. The Missouri native has appeared for the United States U-15, U-16, and U-17 teams. Following her return from injury in 2025, she participated in the October U-20 national team training camp. Pfeiffer is Bay FC's second free agent signing with NWSL experience since the inaugural roster was announced in 2024. Bay FC still have plenty of cap space and roster room before training camp begins this month. They have needs at center back, center midfield, and scoring depth and will likely sign a third-string goalkeeper. Pfeiffer is focused on continuing to grow and doing everything she can to help the team win in 2026 and beyond.
